Belgium is now Vietnam's sixth largest trading partner in the EU with a total investment of more than 1.1 billion USD to Vietnam, mainly in the field of logistics and infrastructure development which Belgium has strengths.
Data from the General Department of Customs shows in 2022, China is Vietnam's largest trading partner with a total two-way trade turnover of 175.57 billion USD, followed by the US (123.86 billion USD), the Republic of Korea (86.38 billion USD) and Japan (47.61 billion USD).
Since the normalisation of bilateral relations 25 years ago, bilateral trade between Vietnam and the US has consistently increased. Vietnam ranks 16th among the US trade partners and the US is Vietnam’s third largest trade partner.
